The best way to get your voice heard by as many people as possible is to write a letter to your local newspaper.Unfortunately around here most of the small papers stopped printing politically based letters. (we're oh so polite) But I think that's for local elections.
If you're ambitious, you can have flyers printed up and distribute them on windshields at parking lots; but those are annoying and people think whoever did them is a nut. Go door to door? Have a coffee or salon to discuss the matter and then ask the people who attend if they will hold one so that you can speak to a different circle of people. If your have a local TV station that airs your town's public meetings, you can speak there, but it's been my experience that not many people watch those- it's like watching paint dry. Petitions work, if you have the time to gather a good amount of signatures. I'll think of more later. |
