Iraq was producing 1.9 million barrels per day before the invasion. They are projected to be producing up to 12 million per day as of 2017, increasing global supply by roughly 10%.
Only one of the 11 oil fields auctioned off thus far has gone to an American company (ExxonMobil). The lion's share of the repair and drilling work needed over the next decade have been awarded to American firms. |
