Quit being a liberal, "eat the rich" asshole. Throwing more money in the hole is not the right way to go. It's what liberals do. Are you a fucking liberal? There is a perfect reason why nobody should be taxed on more than $110,000 - they're not going to get any extra benefit for the money they pay in. It's an insurance program, not a welfare program. If it's now a welfare program, shut it down. As to us "old" people, we had no choice in whether we participated in SS or medicare, it was taken from our paychecks our entire working lives without our permission. It is not unreasonable to now expect the govt to live up to its part of the contract. I would be very happy if the govt would return everything I paid in plus compounded interest, but that not going to happen. |

It's Bigac and myself "living up to the contract". We don't owe you a retirement. |

I'm not old (unless 48 is the new 90), and I've had to pay into SS my entire working life. If I don't get some of that money back, and what my husband paid too, I'll be pissed. Either make everyone pay at the same rate, or get rid of it altogether (but return the money that we've paid into it first).

Of course you had a choice. You had the choice to petition and lobby against it, and elect congressmen to repeal it. |

Hmmmm, I don't recall either of your names on my pay stubs when that money was taken out. Nor were they on the yearly SS statements that the Govt sent me. There is a constructive contract between the govt and taxpayers relative to SS and medicare. If the govt wants to change it for young people, fine. But for those of us who paid in for 40+ years, the govt owes it to us, and there is no politician stupid enough to try to change that. The money taken out of your paychecks is gone. Spent. And it ain't coming back. |

My hunch is that those wise enough to oppose entitlements were also wise enough to plan for their own future. and for goat boy, there was and is a constructive contract. Any lawyer would verify that. |

I also don't know anyone who thinks SS is "retirement". At a whopping $1200 a month or whatever the previous high income earners get, who could live on that? Everyone I know has savings, including us. No SS, we'll be fine. But I still want my money back. |
