I was speaking to a friend last night about an event he witnessed.. It was a large gathering of cotton farmers who were being pitched by a chemical company to spray their fields for a weed they never experienced that posed no threat to them.. The Rep continued to acknowledge this, and say that they should pay for the spraying anyway, because the Federal Government would compensate them for this, and they'd pocket more than three times what the application cost.. and they could do it three times a year.
The crowd was overwhelmingly Republican/Conservative leaning... Or at least they think they are.. In reality they're socialists who hate high taxes because it cuts into their take. Would it surprise anyone if s bunch of people flipped to the Democrat side of the isle if they were offered, say.. 4 times the amount of the spraying? Or 5? They have no particular use for freedom, or the constitution.. So why should they fear "big government" ?? It would appear they're profiting handily from it, and are mostly just worried about keeping as much of that gubmint money coming, and as little of it GOING, as possible. |

These types typically complain about the fat nigger bitch munching a sandwich while she sloths her way through the day at the local government office..
However, I'd argue that they're actually worth less than the sandwich cruncher.. Because at least she MAY be performing a service we require.. While they're just a bunch of socialists who happen to like low taxes and guns, while providing nothing of value for their gubmint check. |

There is a farmer in this area that hates welfare believes that all able bodied people should work and not rely on the government. They're nothing but a bunch of flag waving, jingoistic, socialist, boobs.. If the wacko liberals weren't in control of their party, the GOP would never stand a chance with this type of voter.. |

You hear a lot of people complain about welfare, but you never hear conservatives complain about corporate welfare and farm subsidies. |

I am not bitter. What I stated was the truth. He brings home more pork than almost anybody else. That is how he has kept his seat in his district for 23 years. It's not any different just because Ron Paul does it. 2) Yes.. It is. As has been EXPLAINED A MILLION TIMES.. He votes against the expenditures.. But.. If they're going to SPEND THE MONEY ANYWAY.. OVER HIS OBJECTIONS.. Then the people of his district have a right to get some of the money back, and he tries to accomplish that.. As any good representative would.. RP just makes you people chimp the fuck out for some reason.. You lose all your common sense and everything.. |

Ron Paul doesn't make me chimp out, but he sure does for your little group for some strange reason.
You can make the same argument for anybody, they are going to spend the money anyway. He makes sure he hides them in bills that are going to pass. I haven't looked at all the pork he stuck in and got, but some of the ones I have are pretty ridiculous. The thread was not driven off coarse. The topic was republicans who preach one thing when it comes to government spending, and then does the opposite when it comes to benefiting them. |

Ron Paul doesn't make me chimp out, but he sure does for your little group for some strange reason. No, not really. The thread clearly isn't about politicians. It's about the voters. Listen, if you have some damning evidence on Ron Paul and his earmarks, go ahead and start a thread about it. Let's see the details. Because I have absolutely no reason to take your word for anything. We'll be needing citations, bub. |

define "corporate welfare". Is it funding a solar panel company that has never made a profit and has no ability to survive? Is it subsidizing ethanol production and driving up the price of corn in order to put a crappy fuel on the market? It's also funding farmers to spray for shit they don't need...and paying them to NOT grow crops. |

1) Now, some people will call that hypocrisy. But they are stupid people, who don't understand what the word means. There's no reason for Farmer Joe to fall behind his competitors on principle. By all means, take the money. But vote for cutting the subsidy. |

Ron Paul isn't a voter? Politicians are exempt? How many more excuses can you come up with? OR maybe you are going to grasp at "he really isn't a republican". Because that would be the only argument you really would have left. |
