From rightly heralding the Iowa primary as a crucial indicator as to who will eventually capture the GOP nomination, the establishment has closed ranks and now decided that a Ron Paul victory doesn’t count and that the focus will be on who finishes second. http://www.infowars.com/iowa-governo...nishes-second/
The sheep will bleat....baa baa baa and do as they're told. |

This is liable to backfire and end up making Ron Paul look like a sincere candidate who threatens their interests.. Thus drawing support for him and increasing his exposure.
That's Mitt's whole problem right now.. He looks anointed. Nobody wants that.. If they wanted to REALLY fuck Paul over, maybe the worst thing they could do is endorse him. Worked with Mitt! |

this entire election has the feel of a bad high school play. It's fucking terrible.. A terrible situation. Much more of this will end up creating a crisis of confidence. Make people (In this case, Primary voters.. Very passionate, informed people) question if the party can even promote suitable candidates anymore.
And I don't agree with the pundits that guys like Jeb, Mitch Daniels or Christie would have had much of an impact.. Daniels and Christie are good on labor and reasonably responsible fiscally.. But beyond that they're mostly polished up liberals. I read yesterday that Daniels wants a statewide smoking ban before the Superbowl, because he's ashamed of smokers and doesn't want outsiders to think his state is backwards. So his immediate response is to curtail personal liberty. Christie is a global warmer, and has made other comments that would definitely cause him problems in a general election. Jeb was running around screaming about the irrelevance of Reagan till a couple days ago, when he decided Reagan's ideas were worth a second look. None of these guys would have helped a thing.. The problem is establishment gatekeepers within the structure of the party itself.. |

Looks like the GOP's internal poll numbers have scared them silly. |

This wasn't surprising:
RINO sparklebot, Sarah Palin endorsed Iowa Gov. Branstad against the Tea Party candidate. John McCain, Rick Perry, Terry Branstad...all RINOs endorsed AGAINST the Tea Party candidates by "tea party darling" Sarah Palin. Does this help to understand why Branstad said what he said? Is the Republican party headed for a schism on the eve of a momentous election in 2012? |

“People are going to look at who comes in second and who comes in third,”
“If comes in a strong second, it definitely helps him going into New Hampshire and the other states” I thought Ron Paul couldn't win anything? Now they've conceded Iowa already? Have they been reading my posts?!?!? Am I getting through to someone?!?!? |

“People are going to look at who comes in second and who comes in third,” I used to like Fox News, but not anymore. The establishment Republicans are hell-bent on cramming down our throats by any means necessary. |

I sincerely hope you have. I haven't like the GOP establishment, or FOX news, for a long time. Probably forever. It's sad, because the actual people across the country who vote Republican are really great. |
