The relentless claims of the Obama administration and others that having more college graduates is necessary for continued economic leadership is incompatible with this view. Putting issues of student abilities aside, the growing disconnect between labor market realities and the propaganda of higher-education apologists is causing more and more people to graduate and take menial jobs or no job at all. This is even true at the doctoral and professional level—there are 5,057 janitors in the U.S. with Ph.D.’s, other doctorates, or professional degrees.

Ever notice that there is NEVER any criticism of the continually skyrocketing cost of a degree? That's because the leftists are firmly in control of the narrative. Prospects for actual career opportunities in any given field upon graduation isn't even discussed with the kids these days. It's just 'step rightup! right this way..."

There's several issues at hand. The average manufacturing labor in ten years will have to have technological training or more. A job that was done by drop-outs or illegals will be done by robots. Software will collate, file, retrieve and do clerical duties. Interns will do the rest and human resource for free. The pay will be higher for the few that are hired, but the work force decreased drastically. One employer does it, and the rest follow suit to compete. Human labor is becoming obsolete. This is the reason for the wage gap. Demand for increased training and specialization. Which is the reason for the dissipation of the middle class. Which is why the American dream has quietly going to pasture.
