All I know about this is; there's a five point system in order to qualify for governmental assistance in higher education. IE; low interest (taxpayer backed) loans and free, never to repay grants, also paid by the taxpayer.

1 point - unemployed

1 point - single parent

1 point - if you are on AFDC

1 point - if you qualify for HUD

1 point - if you are receiving food stamps

5 points - if you are black

Now, while the above is still in affect, I don't know exactly how it works for the other muds, invaders and non-whites of the world. But I'd imagine, if the government can find a way to slap whitey aside while replacing him or her with non-whites, there is no doubt in my mind that they would do that. The United States government as a whole, is one of the most anti-White entities in the world. And it's getting worse and more blatant as time goes by. Actually, there was free college in NYC; admission was very competitive and only the cream of the crop were admitted. Also I believe that University in England is free. The difference is that there is no assumption that everyone should go to college - only those who were capable and deserved it.

I think it was in the mid 1970's that NYC University system started "open enrollment" accepting those who applied first resulting in the necessity for remedial courses. That was the beginning of the end as far as I'm concerned. The value of a college education is a joke in the US.

I'm still not sure about on-line universities. I think the dynamic of a classroom with back and forth discussion is valuable as a learning tool and in many instances there is the necessity for hands on learning especially in the biological sciences and arts.

Most of those complaining that they want free college should never have attended college in the first place, but gone to trade school. You don't need to have a college degree to be well read.

I think I look at trade schools much differently than you do. IMO, the majority of them are FAR SUPERIOR to most colleges.

I've been around the trades most of my life. I've met many many many more smart people in the trades, than I've seen coming out of colleges.

Sounds like a union to me.

Most apprentices that aren't in a union, simply hire into a company applying that trade, and work their way up.

The NEC National Electric Code, is often adapted by the cities or states. Sometimes, various exclusions occur.

It varies.

No state or city is required to follow it though, and the people who write the NEC, aren't teaching apprentices. It's just a set of guidelines.
