Wow, look at this guy's suggestions for fixing the problem. Cut 3 billion a year in expenditures. Cut infrastructure??!! "Maintaining a vast national infrastructure is no longer realistic," Donahoe said. Cut 252 facilities. And only extend the delivery time for first class mail by a day?? Is this guy subliminally kicking nObama in the balls???? But here's the kicker. Any changes to mail delivery must be approved by Congress. And The American Postal Workers Union denounced the plan... If this guy is allowed to fix the Postal Service it will be a signal to the country that CUTS are a cure. Not additional spending. |

Won't help.
Unless they're willing to fire 100k workers......they'll stay broke. We've got UPS workers, selling stamps, and making 60+ dollars per hour, for doing so. Multiply that by the number of post offices..........that's a massive budget. Mail isn't as 'handy' as it once was. The union is going to have to accept the fact that they've leeched off their host too much, and it has perished. |

"Degrading service is not the answer to the Postal Service’s problems," union President Cliff Guffey said in a statement. "The Postal Service should be urging Congress to address the cause of its problems -- not slashing service and demolishing its network." lulz......the union says 'call your congress critter!! we needs us a bailout!!!'

The USPS is about ten bill in the hole. Cutting 3 bill a year will get them in the black in a few years. Much faster than the Federal government overall.
I'm still rooting for him if he's serious. It would be used as an example for generations. And that's why I suspect the Dims in the Senate will be against it. |
