For the LULZ......lets see what the 'experts' warn you NOT to say to a college grad. “What Can You Do With That Degree?” No one poses this question to electrical-engineering students. But ask a roomful of liberal-arts folks if they’ve heard it and every hand goes up. It’s frustrating for them. A better question might be “What have you learned that will help you do what you enjoy?” Today’s economy is rapidly evolving, and many new grads will end up as freelancers or entrepreneurs and perform jobs that don’t exist right now. Well.....there's no need to ask someone with an electrical-engineering degree.......because it's clear WHAT THEY CAN 'DO'. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/1..._n_792399.html Huffpo says unemployment is wayyyyy up for degree holders. I wonder why that is? There's Isha, who, despite having a master's degree and a White House internship on her resume, can't find a job. There's Mark, who went back to school in his 30s only to remain workless. And there's Samantha, who spent nearly two years of her post-college life in a Starbucks in New York City, applying for any position she could find on Craigslist. lulz........2 years at starbucks eh? well....that's 'hip'. So...if you're talking to a liberal arts major.....it's just very very rude to ask what they can 'do' with such a degree. Bad form and all that. Because they're trained to 'think'. lmao Of course they can't 'do' anything...... |

I am always perplex at why someone would lay down over $100k for something so goddamn stupid like 18th century literature, liberal arts, or sociology. Then, the have the audacity to say they can't find a job. Ya fucking think ? Do you think people choose the more difficult majors for the hell of it ?
I will literally laugh at them when they say they can't find a job and ask them if those extra hours at the frat parties and clubs (while I was studying and am currently employed) were worth it. |

Yep. Like, math is hard and stuff and I can't do science. Then you should probably learn to sell (that's really your only option) or kill yourself. |

any degree on liberal arts suck... 1 with a degree in molecular biology 1 with a degree in sustainable horticulture It's good that they had the wisdom of the experience of a mom with a liberal arts degree. |
