Default Told you so, Hoff...
http://news.yahoo.com/obama-halts-co...143731156.html

"Obama overruled the Environmental Protection Agency — and the unanimous opinion of its independent panel of scientific advisers — and directed administrator Lisa Jackson to withdraw the proposed regulation to reduce concentrations of ground-level ozone, smog's main ingredient. The decision rests in part on reducing regulatory burdens and uncertainty for businesses at a time of rampant uncertainty about an unsteady economy."

The speech next week will be Obama's attempt at a "Clinton moment". He's going to at least feign going moderate...

I saw that... But I remain unconvinced he's going to lurch radically to the right.

3 fucking years in?

What took you so long Mr. President?

Are you admitting the Republicans have been RIGHT all along? And that YOU and YOUR POLICIES.. and YOUR PARTY have been the problem all along?

He won't have to paint it that way. He'll be able to shrug his shoulders and claim the Republicans have the economy held hostage, and now he's decided to choose his battles, yada yada yada...

Agreed.
Don't exclude his raw arrogance and over-inflated feelings of brilliance from your predictions. His nig-ego might not let him.

Shifting right, won't really help him like it did Bill and Monica......

Obama has screamed for these policies (echoed by his liberal cronies) for almost 3 years.....if he backs off now, it won't save him. It will just be more valid reasons to attack his policies.

Oh, it won't work. It's way too late for it to work before election time. My prediction was simply that that is what he's going to attempt to do.

I think his 'advisers' will know that it's too late for that to work also...they'll advise him to stick to the same ole' rhetoric.

We'll see tho.

This is a guy who literally wants to run coal powered energy producers out of business.. I dunno how far to the right he CAN lurch.

He probably thinks this move makes him more conservative than Reagan.

Already are. I think he is focused "like a laser" on re-election, though. And they're going to vote for him anyway.

I could be totally wrong, here, of course.

Oh, self-styled emperors are above the fray, Hoff. There's no ideology more sacred than the promise of power.
