Perry Points to ‘Idiotic’ U.S. Rule That Doesn’t Exist http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2011/0...-doesnt-exist/
For a small-government conservative on the presidential campaign stump like Texas Gov. Rick Perry, a new federal regulation forcing farmers to get commercial drivers licenses would make a perfect example of Barack Obama’s Washington run amok. “If you’re a tractor driver, if you drive your tractor across a public road, you’re gonna have to have a commercial driver’s license. Now how idiotic is that?” he thundered to the fair crowd in Des Moines, with the rejoinder, “What were they thinkin’?” So, lets see....... Headline taking a quote out of context? Check. What was Perry talking about? Was he making shit up? Let's see........ http://www.statesman.com/news/nation...a-1753304.html Federal highway officials have decided that farmers who operate tractors, combines and semitrailers can keep driving on rural roads without the same kind of regulations that apply to long-haul truckers. The U.S. Department of Transportation announced last week that it won't require farmers to get commercial driver's licenses after agriculture organizations and lawmakers from farm states flooded Washington with letters opposed to the idea. It's a victory for farmers who argued that requiring them to carry commercial licenses would cost them time and money. Let's jump back to the WSJ now......for another of their quotes. “We have no intention of instituting onerous regulations on the hardworking families who feed our country and fuel our economy,” Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, himself an Illinoisan and a Republican, said in the agency’s statement Aug. 10. Trying again, to imply that Perry was making shit up.....but it's not accurate. Because......the DOT was considering just that. Until it was canceled. Perry's comment is directed at the starting of such retarded policies...... And let the spin begin. |

I'm supporting Perry. He carries water for Big Corporations and Big Business. Exactly what we need the get out of this Depression. Fuck the little people. I want money. Lesson for you (heed it well): For sarcasm to be effective, you have to actually know what you are talking about. Work on it and come back for lesson 2. |

We got Obama/DNC plants okptsman, slaphappy, and bigac in here.....this place couldn't be more of an IQ FAIL graveyard if it tried right now. He says without irony while accusing others of "shooting the messenger" every time his poorly articulated thoughts are expressed and he is called out on his cheerleading falsehoods. Dude, this is not going well for you. |
