NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Amid the market turmoil, sales of security safes and vaults have spiked. While some shoppers sought to protect whatever valuables they had left, others needed a place to stash their newly-acquired safe haven assets such as gold and cash. Port Charlotte, Fla.-based Value Safes said it sold an average of $13,000 in safes a day in the past week, more than tripling its daily average of $3,500 from the previous week. This is a good way to tell how the nation feels. When the country starts buying safes......their feelings are showing. |

No doubt. Just look at Philly. These animals will be knocking in your doors pretty soon. One of the links on the side where I found this story linked to an article telling some of the methods used to STEAL safes. I gotta give some of those thieves credit....very clever. One used some golf balls, and a couple broom stick handles to roll a safe out that weighed about half a ton. |
