“Cost overruns in the order of 50 percent in real terms are common for major infrastructure, and overruns above 100 percent are not uncommon,” Bent Flyvbjerg, a professor of major program management at the University of Oxford’s Said Business School, writes in the Oxford Review of Economic Policy. “Demand and benefit forecasts that are wrong by 20-70 percent compared with actual development are common.”

Nobody is saying that.. But Obama has been waving the infrastructure card for nigh on three years now, and the rosy economic scenarios and projected costs are both smoke in mirrors.
Further, I think the states should be building their own infrastructure... I have no interest in financing bridges to nowhere as some sort of misguided jobs program. If I want a bridge, it's because I want to cross some water.. Not so some nigger can lean on a shovel at union wage. |

I'D LIKE TO SEE STATES DO ALL ROADS, BRIDGES, ETC. INTERSTATE ROUTES TO A COMMON STANDARD... ALL OTHERS TO STATE'S DISCRETION. STOP THE FEDERAL MONEY/POWER GRAB. KEEP THE MONEY IN THE STATES/LOCALITIES. |

INTERSTATE ROUTES TO A COMMON STANDARD... ALL OTHERS TO STATE'S DISCRETION. Yeah, and there's no reason why State legislatures and governors can't develop standards..
Libs act like state government is chopped liver.. and incapable of anything beyond letting faggots marry. State government should be a lot more important and influential than it is now. Let them work out standards for carbon, roads, pot, and whatever else the people decide.. THEN, let them face the consequences of their decisions. That's how it's supposed to work, and stupid is supposed to hurt. We need to get back to that.. |

http://youtu.be/mZimZYTwuDk They need to attract business investment and manage their bonds very carefully. Not all states are the same.. and that's fine, imo. |

Contrary to liberal whinging, being lean is a GOOD thing.. It forces them to prioritize. Free money! We've got plenty! Hand it out to buy votes! Hey, what happened to all of that money? We need more! We neeeeeeeeeeeeeeed it! |

It's that poor working sap!!!! HE NEEDS TO PAY HIS FAIR SHARE, GOSH-DAMNIT! "Well, you've got to take care of the poor... Those single mothers need help... We can't just leave people out in the cold... The kids need school lunches... We should subsidize electric bills for the poor... People really should have top-notch medical insurance even if they can't pay for it..." This is the shit you have to pound out of people. Don't ever let stupid emotional statements like this go unchallenged. They build on themselves. |
