Africa has had a long history of problems with food prices. Why? Because of the rising gap between the poor and the rich. The more poor people you have, the more demand for food. 16% of wealth is spent on food for the poor compared to 11% of the rich. This goes to show what the people of Africa are fighting for. Because of this, we could expect a decline in exports for American food. Mubarak had a long history with the military, having an education in it with communist Russia. This is the real reason why he left power to the military. America now finds that the Middle East is divided due to the revolutions caused in Egypt, Libya, etc. They can employ a bait and bleed, waiting for the two sides in the middle east to wear themselves down and then America steps in with full strength, or arm the right people right now. It is our politician's choice to have a say in the middle east right now.
