“When I was elected, I thought I knew what was going on, but I got here and found out [that] in the short term, things were way worse than I ever imagined,” Bing said. “Financially. Ethically. From a policy standpoint. We were on the brink of a financial calamity.” The brink? LMAO! You were way over the edge already..... So what kind of plans now? Bing announced a plan on Monday to encourage city police officers and firefighters to live in Detroit as a way of bolstering neighborhoods. Using federal dollars and deals with local banks, the city would offer homes for as little as $1,000. ![]() ![]() The mayor has, so far, made no commitments. At this point, he just wants residents to face facts. Such as: He cannot afford to send water, garbage trucks and other services to large parts of his city. And: There are so few ambulances that some people have been transported in city-owned sedans. Plus: Last summer, the wheels and rims were stolen off Bing’s GMC Yukon security vehicle and it was left on blocks. LOL..... ![]() |

lol..
They're pretty fucked. Mark Steyn claimed the other day on the Limbaugh show that like (I forget exactly, so forgive me if I'm a point or two off here.. and I haven't verified this.) 34% worked for government.. 27% were unemployed. So.. That leaves roughly one person in three paying for everything. |

lol.. Massive unemployment...massive crime...1 out of 4 of their local politicians get busted for stealing or sex crimes....the city is broke, and can't pay for trash to be picked up...just to name a few. lol Hey tho...their mayor is gonna brainstorm an idea or two.....he's even taking public ideas. lol Fence it off....and use it as toxic waste dump sites..... There's my idea. |

The eco-hippies are already planning on turning it back into rural farmand.
Renn says the sheer size of Detroit — a largely vacant urban prairie bigger than Manhattan, Boston and San Francisco combined — makes it a prime test case for the “shrinking cities” movement. And so an American Institute of Architects study imagines Detroit reduced into a metro core surrounded by green belts, “urban villages” and banked land. Yes, a retired truck driver reportedly shoots raccoons and sells them as food, at $12 per carcass to feed a family of four $12 per coon carcass sounds a bit expensive. There’s not much chance a strong city government could really turn the place around, but it could stop the grass roots revival in its tracks. I seriously doubt anything would change that shit-hole around. The liberal progressives have already turned it into a full blown 3rd world Hell. |

If Steyn is right, there's almost no hope for Detroit. There would be hope for Detroit if it was populated by rational people instead of a vast tribe of lunatics. |
