WASHINGTON – The New York Times Co. on Thursday reported a 26-percent drop in quarterly net profit as an increase in digital advertising revenue failed to make up for what it lost in print ads and circulation. Wonder if the Grey Lady will receive another lump of cash from a benefactor sometime soon? It's too valuable as a propaganda outlet to just go broke and collapse. Pelosi even suggested federal subsidies at one point. |

Why not subsidize it? We do almost everything else. Including other media outlets. This thing is too big to fail.. It helps "shape opinion" Too valuable to let a silly thing like profitability get in the way. Interestingly, the Wash Times was propped up too. Reverend Moon supposedly didn't give a shit about losing money! He just LOVED TO SELL PAPERS! |

They must jizz themselves to think back to the day that a handful of media outlets controlled virtually everyone's opinion.
Dictators LOVE this shit.. Hell, just talking about it I stumbled on another one. They're everywhere! Malawi amendment bans news 'not in public interest' http://cpj.org/2011/02/malawi-amendm...c-interest.php |
