It's from slate, so it's basically just one big whine about WHY THE GREENIE STUFF JUST ISN'T MOVING!!?!?!?!?!? All the usual suspects get hit - Americans get their energy cheaply. We don't subsidize enough. We don't subsidize properly. The anti-AGW lobby has too much money..
![]() Then we get to this: http://www.slate.com/id/2275245?wpisrc=xs_wp_0001 Finally, China's trade policies lock foreign cleantech firms out of the world's largest potential market unless they're willing to partner with a Chinese manufacturer and produce their goods locally—a prospect that leaves companies uneasy in light of China's general disregard for intellectual property rights and dims the prospects for growing the numbers of American manufacturing jobs. |

That ain't "free trade" man...
Why are we permitting them to do this? I have been assured.. REPEATEDLY, that this is GOOD POLICY. That we're REALLY WINNING and China is being stupid. But they keep growing at a fast clip.. Trade deficits yawn.. We lose jobs.. If this is "winning" I'd hate to see what an ass kicking looks like. |
