Stan Greenburg says Obama needs a "vision" for the American economy.. and that is what these talks are likely to result in. But it will be the wrong vision. He can't get any help from these people. It's going to be a bunch of self serving crap from a swath of the largest companies in the country.. We recently learned that many of these giants were bailed out on the sly by the FED. Toyota, Ford, GE, others.. all got bailed out. What do you think these guys will want? I think all that will come of this is suggestions to use government power to enrich themselves.. "Incentives" toward a clean, green future filled with misery for everyone but those at the top who are poised to benefit. The economic "vision" he needs is de-regulation.. Less government. Less interference and fewer companies looking to the Federal government to regulate the next buck into their pocket. He's not going to get that advice from any major league CEO in the country, today. The guy is flailing.. Because this sort of thing doesn't come naturally to him. |

This is as pathetic as congressional appropriators sitting on their hands while the "deficit commission" diagnosed our economy and made suggestions that they, apparently, weren't bright enough to come up with themselves.
What a mess we have.. Want economic growth? GO HOME.. Let us be governed by the first 545 names in the telephone book. |
