Can someone please explain to me, in words, what "right" employees have to haul their employers before a mediation board? Or what "right" employees have to unionize AT ALL?
I know all about the Wagner act, so spare me the legalese.. I want to know what moral right they think they have to do anything of the kind in the first place. I mean, they're the employees.. Who the fuck are they to dictate ANYTHING and who is the government to do the same? If they're so unhappy, why don't they JUST QUIT? What would be unfair about that? You don't like the job.. Pay.. Benefits.. Hours.. Whatever. Then you LEAVE. What's so fucking difficult about this? |

what "right" employees have to unionize AT ALL? All unionization is, is communication. Employees getting together and saying, if ones fired, we're all fired.
If all the Engineers that live in an area join the same Union, and agree to either all work with their respected demands, or all quit (Which as you said, they have the right to do). You don't like the job.. Pay.. Benefits.. Hours.. Whatever. Then you LEAVE. This is how it works if you hire Non Unionized help, which is an employers choice. The problem with Non Union work is that they are often unskilled. If I graduate from college, and I can join a Union and make twice as much as just going and getting a job, why wouldn't I join the Union? Unions are workers collaborating just like management and ownership is allowed to. Where I do disagree with this, is when these people start trying to make laws. That is where they go too far. |

This is how it works if you hire Non Unionized help, which is an employers choice. No it is not. You can be hauled before a mediation board for refusing the recognize a union vote. |

No it is not. You can be hauled before a mediation board for refusing the recognize a union vote. Then how does Wal mart do it? If the Wal Mart employees went to the management with a union, they would all be immediately fired. Businesses have the option to do this, they will simply lose many good employees.
Of course, if all the Auto Mechanics in an area belong to one union, you either have to hire from that union or close down shop. |
