Smilies: the best reply to moronic posts written by people that think they know when it is evident they ignore even the basic about the subjects they are treating.
Which sounds more ironic/sarcastic?
Pashtuns: Who are they?
Or
Pashtuns: Who are they?
I misinterpreted your intention because it wasn't obviously...

Let's see...

A pair of battles...

A war won against the French.

A war won against the brave Austrians.

Nice try...
Learn the definition of Bravery. Bravery has nothing to do with winning or losing. If you had known that you wouldn't have insulted everyone in the poll and made such an idiotic statement. If Bravery had something to do with losing, America would be braver than Spain no? You lost all your North American territories & slowly lost every single one in Latin America. One of the biggest colonial fails in history. You simply have no room to talk about anyone in the poll.

You are getting your ass kicked, Abenjaldun. Most of the times, the bravest armies are those who lose. For instance the Foreign Legion fighting until the last man in Mexico or Leonidas and their Greeks fighting until the last man in Thermopilas.

It took Spain 800 years (800 hundred!!!!!!) to get rid of the Moors. When they tried to invade England, they drowned before they even get there. Epic fail.

Ah, another brave people. The Japanese were very brave. For a tiny island they sure started shit with everyone.

Well if you want to get technical. Born in Texas, raised in Washington. Now in North Carolina for summer :P

You should throw that translator away then, since it's evident that it's not working. Do you want sources to prove that you lose your South American colonies, or do you want sources about the fact that you were invaded by Romans and Muslims? Damn, I would have to provide you with all of the things that you should have learn in high school.

They deserve admiration for not becoming a colonial outpost of Western European colonialism, for quickly adapting and advancing technology used by Western Europeans and for humiliating and causing concern for the Americans and the British, who had a vastly greater amount of natural resources at their disposal and alliances which made it easier for them to acquire and develop technology, something the Japanese did not have.

Ah, another brave people. The ancient Japanese were very brave. For a tiny island they sure started shit with everyone.

So you are so ignorant of your own history that you don't know that the Visigoths and Muslims invaded and conquered Spain.

3 centuries under Visigoths and 6 to 8 centuries in some parts under the Moors.

Now with your shitty economy and half of the young unemployed you will soon be ruled by the European Central Bank and the Germans.

British surrender:

Arthur Percival marches under a flag of truce in order to sue for surrender of the British forces to the Japanese on 15 February 1942

Lieutenant-General Yamashita (seated, centre) thumps the table with his fist to emphasise his demand for unconditional surrender. Lieutenant-General Percival sits between his officers, his clenched hand to his mouth.

The Battle of Singapore was fought in the South-East Asian theatre of the Second World War when the Empire of Japan invaded the Allied stronghold of Singapore. Singapore was the major British military base in Southeast Asia and nicknamed the "Gibraltar of the East". The fighting in Singapore lasted from 8–15 February 1942. It resulted in the fall of Singapore to the Japanese, and the largest surrender of British-led military personnel in history. British Prime Minister Winston Churchill called the ignominious fall of Singapore to the Japanese the "worst disaster" and "largest capitulation" in British history. In just seven days, Singapore, the "Impregnable Fortress", had fallen. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Singapore

Spain lost her South American colonies.

Spain ("Castile") was born in Middle Ages, due to the constant expansionism against the Muslims. But talking about Spain in Visigoths or Romans times it would be like talking about Barack Obama in XVIIIth century. A nonsense.

By the way, Spain was dog-tired after the Napoleon wars; it had no strenght to preserve its american colonies. Besides, they were 5.000 kilometres away (we Catalan would be independent too if we were in America... for God's sake).

To finish, that was sort of a civil war between high-class population (against Spain, because they were not allowed to sell or buy slaves in the USA). and the low-class population (supporting Spain):
