Default Your country: despective words towards ethnic groups.
Catalonia...

- "Charnego": spanish immigrants

- "Catalufo", "Polish": we Catalan.

- "Tirafletxes" or "People who throw arrows": southern american immigrants.

- "Pagapensions" or "Taxation-Payers": all non-european immigrants. You can guess the word is ironicall as most of them work over-the-counter.

I warn you these word are very offensive in some contexts.

Now, say yours....

One theory is that Spanish have never understood our language, so they said our language "sounds like Polish".

But in the Spanish Civil War, spanish army used to sing:
Catalan, Jew and renegade ones
You'll pay for all.

... therefore, the word "Polish" may be related with the attitude of Hitler between Polland.

Rumanoide: Romanian
Panchito, tiraflechas, chipiriguayo, wachupino, chamaquito, machupichu and (said by Gypsies) payo-pony: Amerinds or mestizos.

It is customary here to put nicknames to neighboring regions, for example, is common in my province to call "African" to the inhabitants of Murcia, a border near region

Gringos, Yanquis = Americans

PitÃ*s, Mañeses = Haitians

Cocolos = British/Dutch West Indians, even though the term have sort of stuck and it doesn't have the same derogatory value that it did before.

Turcos = MENA inmigrants.

Chinos = Every Asian group of Mongoloid race is called this no matter the ethnicity. It can be derogatory depending on the moment it's used, or to whom you refer as such (if you call a Korean or a Japanese as such, you'd have made an enemy for life, guaranteed).

Er, there were two Spanish armies during the Spanish Civil War. That's why they call it a Civil War or were the Republicans in Madrid, Castile, much of Andalusia, Extremedura, etc. Catalans? Not only are you dumb but you also lack basic common sense.

... therefore, the word "Polish" may be related with the attitude of Hitler between Polland. That's perhaps the dumbest thing you have ever said.

I've never heard anyone refer to Catalans as Polakos. I'll ask my parents about it when I see them. It's probably a new thing used by other Spaniards against Catalan nationalists to exaggerate their belief they are different from them by labeling them a distant ethnic group. If my parents never heard of it, then it's recent and if it's recent then the assumption I made makes sense. Certainly much more sense than your idiotic assumption.

In Poland:
Russians: Ruscy (mean just what it is in Russian)
Germans: Szwaby (the name is from a province)
there are no many offensive terms for other nations indeed, there are more funny or ironic terms than offensive.

Gringos, Yanquis = Americans
I have been told it cames from Nicaragua's guerrilla (Sandino) against USA army. They classified their commands by colours... black, white, green, blue...

And when they say:
Green!! Goo...!!

... guerrilla heard as "grin! go!.

I live in the US. Did you not grasp that by now? At some point I would think you would realize I live in the USA but that's expecting too much from you. But while in Spain I never heard it said. I doubt you hear it said much, either. You may just see it on the internet and exaggerate as you always do until someone puts you in your place.

Gringo most likely comes from "griego." Spaniards referred to foreigners during the 16th and 17th century they didn't understand as "Greek." It was picked up by colonials in Mexico.

No one told me that. I read it. There are things called "books" that one reads for information.

castilians, andalucians... panderetos, meaning ~ tambourinos.

the reason is because spain is called often 'un pais de pandereta' (a tambourine country)

typical pandereto type, intellectual at his height.

when we were happy and panderetos...

So if you are living in the USA and don't know the reality of your native country, SHUT UP instead of treating me like a fool. I'm hearing "fucking Polish, fucking Catalan" since I went to High School and you're supposed to give me lessons....

People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

"I cannot be a public worker in Catalonia because those nazis force us to learn Catalan"

PS: don't you realize the differences between YOU and ME? I do my best to express myself in English, the common language of this forum, even making an effort... however, you are oftenly using Spanish or a ridiculous Spanglish when you cannot say what you want to....

You are a fool and Spain isn't my native country. I was born and raised in the US.

Why should I keep quiet when a poorly educated woman rambles on about subjects she does not know? You admitted you get all your information on history from forums and you've only read one historical book on the history of Catalunya. A book that is a shorten version of Catalunya's history. We have books called "The Short History of *insert nation here* also. Tourists buy them before they go on vacation. You're not a tourist in Catalunya. So why not read a few serious books on a region you supposedly have pride in? Because it's not important to you. It's just an outlet for some internal issues you have. You're some mentally ill woman who has no life prospects and is socially inept grasping for something to give your life meaning.

I'm hearing "fucking Polish, fucking Catalan" since I went to High School and you're supposed to give me lessons... .

Well, you have been caught lying before but I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen. It'd be a reaction to you being obnoxious. I've called people spic, nigger, greaseball, mick if someone from those groups pushed my buttons.

Okay, I did not know. What else is new?

I thought you were Spanish (Galician to be concrete) and then you emmigrated to the USA.

So you make it worst: you haven't even brought up in Spain and you're living lessons about spanish sociology!

Listen, my dear... I may be a woman with problems as you said... but I'm not stupid and a guy like you is not going to pull my leg. I know Spanish very well as there are a lot of them in Catalonia... The typical ones reluctant to learn Catalan (even they are upset if you talk to them in Catalan, like some offense), singing "fuck Barça, fuck Catalonia" since their childhood... I know very well what I'm talking about, and a conceited man like you living in the other side in the world is not going to give me lessons.

Have a nice day.

Cinder, you are 75% Spaniard even considering Catalonia es a different country. This isnt self-hate?

And by the way, I'm hearing all my life words like "Murcia is Africa lolololo" or "Elcheros sons of bitch" and thats not means their are foreigners. Chek out this high school expulsion certificate for "reincident racism and xenophobia"
