Default Race relationships: better or worse?
Unless you live in a perfectly homogeneous society, there will be always some kind of tension between members of different races and ethnic groups.

The question is really simple: how would you describe and rate race relationships in your country?

Better: race/ethnicity isnt an issue anymore.
The same: self-explanatory.
Worse: racial tensions are building up and people are starting to take sides.

From your own perspective. For example, were racial relations better or worse 10 years ago? Have you seen any change...

Depends on what country you're asking. Here in Mexico nothing changed, Russia got much worse after the fall of the USSR, but if talking about a 5 year period (2007-2012) it's probably the same.

Since no timeframe was mentioned, I chose to my most distant memories in the mid 1970's, and voted basically the same. Actually from any point in time I recall... yesterday, 10 years ago, kindergarten... basically the same.

For people who voted better or worse, I'd be interested to hear perspective on why. To me it is basically same shit different day. There's more hostility towards illegal immigrants I guess, in some places more than others. My earliest memories are from California and we already had plenty of Chicanos. Having Mexicans in the south is new, but having seen them before, to me it looks the same.

Ethnically it has gotten worse since the political and economic situation have worsened on the Haitian side of the island from 2004 onwards.

as the multicultural idiocy takes over europe, the tensions are increasing too, unfortunately most immigrants do not understand what kind of a world they came to, the need to adjust to the local life, which obviously leads to tensions. I'm surprised my country only has occasional inter racial murders and not major acts of terror, yet..

Have undoubtedly worsened greatly after receiving 8 million immigrants in 10 years, both among natives and foreigners, and among different races of immigrants and Gypsies. In some ghettos fights are common: Nigerians vs Gypsies, Amerindians or Dominicans vs North African, local people also have many problems with them due to high crime.

I've realized that SE Asians are racist than I thought...especially to Caucasians. They're more tolerant to non-whites. Sad really...

Depending on when this post is approved by mods this may or may not be relevant.

I voted the same, because history tends to show to what I believe three groups of people regarding racial relations. There are those who accept those who are different, whether they believe in races being equal or there are no races. Then there are those who are hostile toward others who are different. While there are those who are tolerant, whether they are indifferent or have a limit (they can live next door, but they won’t visit them; they can work with them, but won’t befriend them; they can befriend and visit them, but don’t believe or accept interracial relationships, whether personally or restrict their relatives from doing so). These same three groups have co-existed and will always co-exist throughout time. There will be that group that pushes forward, erasing boundaries and attempting to live in harmony and there will be those who will push backward, keeping boundaries and become hostile for whatever reason. While there will be those who are indifferent; however, there are those who I wouldn’t consider accepting or hostile, but wish to stay in the place race relations currently are (conservative).
