Most of the Spanairds I've met and tourists I've seen in Los Angeles look something like this picture of students.



But most White Latin Americans I've met have a more Antonio Banderas or Penelope Cruz type of look. A few Cubans looked more like the students I posted, but they are still a minority from what I've seen.

Did the Spanish conquistadors and immigrants to Latin America mostly come from certain areas in Spain?

It could be moorish ancestry. I've heard they constituted some soldiers in the conquest of Latin America.

Genetically, probably not. But phenotypically, a lot of White Latin Americans look basically Southern Euro.

Honestly I dont see much difference in pigmentation between the Mexican guy and this spaniards ,

A lot of Jewish Conversos escaped to the Americas.

I have read that in colonial times the american whites or criollos were angry every time a ship with spaniards 'peninsulares' came to the americas; they were bothered by the 'super-whiteness' of peninsulares in comparision with them.

But spanish recent immigration to the americas were from all over spain, galicia, canary islands, andalucia, navarra, catalonia... every corner sent people to america.

I don't know if it's imaginary or real, but among the living spaniards today, the young generations are taller (this is a fact) and lighter (my impression) than old generations. Even blondes blue-eyed old men/women seem like darker and less progressive (like in progressive people thread) than youngs, no matter if blonde or brunette.

Improvement in quality of life I guess.

Basques were over-represented among the conquistadores. The thing is, until the 1550s, the mixing with natives was seen as something positive. Later waves of spaniards married the daughters of the previous generation of leaders, thus being a little darker.
