I tan easily and retain the color for a long time and honestly I'm happy to be so, I think I look better and gives me a sense of liveliness, also it is the ideal color for sunny weather where I live most of the year. ![]() anyway I prefer tanned Scandinavians over pale scandinavian skintone,If I were Swedish I'd like to have his skintone ![]() and their women look better tanned ![]() in my opinion pale skin only looks sexy on women ![]() ![]() |

im sort of a light olive, so maybe my skin isn't dark enough for me to gain a complex over, but i don't admire pale people, or darker people that much either. and i've never heard this sentiment said ever. tanned/olive is the skin tone everyone is trying to achieve. thats why you have people willing to sit out in the sun all day and BAKE themselves to get it. olive is imo one of the most attractive skin tones. |

also people are very wrong it's not about skintone it's more about features, people in India for example those from South India not only have darker skin they also have different features from punjabis and people over there always prefered the punjabi standard of beauty you can see that on their ancient paintings,it's wrong to assume that's because of Eurocentric influences, the old world has it's own culture for thousands of years it's not like the Nworld
this Indian Goddes is far from Europeans, she's endemic to India and that's the prototype over there ![]() this dark Indian actress is considered very beautiful and people don't care about her skintone, she has beautiful features that resemble punjabi features ![]() |

Oh, and I'd just like to point out that the people here hate my skin tone. They prefer a reddish/brown skin that's a little light. They hate my skin tone because it's too light, and I'm DEFINETLY not pale skinned. I'm from South India, the place stereotyped to have the most ''self hating'' Indians who wanna be white.
---------- Post added 2012-01-02 at 20:35 ---------- @Particula The girl in the first pic is half white and not punjabi. She's part Kashmiri. |

Just beacause they hate you Jgiambi, doesn't mean they hate other people. ---------- Post added 2012-01-02 at 21:23 ---------- Especially if he isn't jgamabi or whatever the heck it is! ---------- Post added 2012-01-02 at 21:24 ---------- @Particula Actually, she would stand out a bit. |

And I don't that there is any major differences between their features. And there are many light skinned South Indians(though, I've only met a few as light or lighter than me).
---------- Post added 2012-01-02 at 21:30 ---------- Many are around this guys skin tone. http://im.in.com/connect/images/prof..._Arjun_300.jpg ---------- Post added 2012-01-02 at 21:34 ---------- @Particula Look closely. |

i do not know and i cannot speak about other europeans, but for greeks:
pale skin is indicative of sickness tanned skin suggested (not anymore) manual labour under the sun, like working in the fields or fishing. brown skin suggested foreign ancestry, like saracene one and its the most obvious. all the colours ones skin could have are ok, and then the beauty factor is moved into how the colour combines with features, or if the other features like body or mind negate a not so attractive colour. |
