Default Attitudes to national ties- poll
First thing-the poll is anonymous, to boost honest answers.

I grouped answers in three categories- in a simple way- from the strongest to the weakest. Some may argue that notions overlap or are unclear, but its only overviewal poll.
The difference between 'nationalist' and 'patriot' here is about subjective strenghth of ties with the idea of nation.

I am either a nationalist or patriot, as I do not know the difference between them.

Basically:

Patriotism = Flag.
Nationalism = Ethnic or racial group.

I know the difference is a bit blurry, I would say, I used them in understanding of modern politics.
to simplify it, you can treat answer 'patriot' as equivalent of "I dont know", then you would have dual choice- either nationalist or not.

basically, yes. Nationalism is of more importance, patriotism mainly symbolic (hence less strong)

I want to keep Swedes white but I do not mind them mixing with irishmen, germans, new zealanders, white americans, italians, russians, latvians etc as long as the offspring is patriotic to Sweden and white-skinned (not necessarly light-eyes/haired) caucasoid.

I think this is what's called "white nationalism".

I say patriot because I am not actively engaged in fighting for England or against those who want to do harm to it, however I am proud of this country and am proud to belong to the English race.

I chear on Henke Larson and semi-gypsy Zlatan but not on a white man playing for Romania.

The concept of white is only important for me when the swedish people are concerned.

Oh, a Swede has to be christian or from a christian culture (believing or not).

I'm a regionalist.
then if its region defined by area and history, you may choose patriotism. if by ethnicity- nationalist. a cosmopolitan does not feel belonging to a nation or ethnic or regional group, so i doubt you are the one.

I remember member Riser once said that he is citizen of the world and that roots are destructive.

the division is obviously drawn with a thick line. Probably not many people are pure cosmopolitans in heart, they rather aspire to that or are close to that. The poll is more about 'what is closest to you' not to precisely define. Gutt feeling.

Regionalist-not a bad term. I think I am regionalist or at least do have some regionalistic tendencies.

tribalism, regionalism, localism, mega-regionalism- all can be translated to either 'patriot' or 'nationalist.
For instance, a Basque terrorist is definitely something more than a local patriot.

It is a separatic region. I think almost every European country has such regions, in Latvia such region is Latgale.

I've flirted at some point with every one of those ideologies. But in the end chose the one that would make me the least hypocritical.

I have the American flag flying outside my house every day of the year. I believe in being loyal to my country and doing my part to make it a great place to live. But I am not anti-other countries. Patriot?
