What do you consider the more important measure of physical attractiveness: a person's body or a person's face?
Although, there is no guessing to your personal answer to this question, at least according to data that Jamie Confer, Carin Perilloux and David Buss collected from 381 students at the University of Texas, there are interesting general trends: Studies of physical attractiveness have long emphasized the constituent features that make faces and bodies attractive, such as symmetry, skin texture, and waist-to-hip ratio. Few studies, however, have examined the reproductively relevant cues conveyed by faces and bodies as whole units. Based on the premise that fertility cues are more readily assessed from a woman's body than her face, the present study tested the hypothesis that men evaluating a potential short-term mate would give higher priority to information gleaned from her body, relative to her face, than men evaluating a potential long-term mate. Male and female participants (N=375) were instructed to consider dating an opposite sex individual, whose face was occluded by a “face box” and whose body was occluded by a “body box,” as a short-term or long-term mate. With the instruction that only one box could be removed to make their decision about their willingness to engage in the designated relationship with the occluded individual, significantly more men assigned to the short-term, compared to the long-term, mating condition removed the body box. Women's face versus body information choice, in contrast, was unaffected by the temporal dimension of the mating condition. These results suggest that men, but not women, have a condition-dependent adaptive proclivity to prioritize facial cues in long-term mating contexts, but shift their priorities toward bodily cues in short-term mating contexts. http://www.ehbonline.org/article/S10...042-5/abstract |

what you highlighted is pretty much dead on.alot of guys will sleep with a girl who is more or less unattractive but has a nice body(not even that sometimes) but wont date a woman who is ugly in the face.when i look at a girl i look at the face first.i mean it doesnt matter how hot your body is if you look like you ran your face into a wall at a full sprint im not interested.cant speak on how woman think but i assume they are looking at the same thing.

Yeah, but some trannies after taking hormones won't even have traces of their manly selves on them. |

What do you consider the more important measure of physical attractiveness: a person's body or a person's face? That does not mean I would marry her or want to date her long term, those are different things, and I look at different things. Face is more important when seeing a person every few days, than it is at night half drunk in a club. ![]() |

I agree with what you posted. Short term, a woman can have a "so so" face but if her body is "hot" then I would sleep with her. most black men put the preference of the ass over the face. The woman can have the face of a buffalo but as long as it has a big plump juicey butt it is okay. |

I guess it's also interesting that in different parts of the world, preferences are as different as night and day.
Most people in Asia hate a huge butt and curves...they usually equate that to being fat or chubby, having had multiple kids or more "sexual" than the men. People here like short, petite women but with big boobs. |

Interesting. You are not a typical black man. ![]() I bet you never closely associated with 3 black men in your entire fucking life but you can stereotype 400 million black men. ![]() |

I guess it's also interesting that in different parts of the world, preferences are as different as night and day. I'd see these women with completely flat bottoms (looks very unattractive IMHO), but I would guess they see flat asses as 'sexy'? Like Jennifer Lopez, would she be seen as non-attractive? Her ass must be seen as unreal in those areas. |

I think that a balance between a fair good looking face and firm and lean body is perfect, specially when the woman work out her legs. The cherry on the cake is her charm, they way she looks at you, the way she talks, walks..
---------- Post added 2010-08-24 at 13:22 ---------- I think for most Asians (East Asians and Southeast Asians in particular), they're more inclined to choose slender, petite women. Most of them won't have wide hips BUT I'm not fairly certain if they'd prefer a flat butt though. ![]() |
