I think that when the breeding is within your family but not too close the better chances of conception outweigh the moderate increase in the risk of genetic disorders afflicting the offspring.

This. People vastly overstate the chance of genetic deficiencies occurring as a result of 'incest'. There is actually only a serious risk if two siblings have children. Of course, cousins marrying eachother for generations is still not a good idea.
