In Toronto, and this is no joke lol.
Lots of Indians on PEI, too. Not many at all in the other Maritime provinces, though.

No joke: people on PEI assume I'm Indian when I book dentist appointments and stuff, and then get surprised when a white person walks in. I don't know why.

indians pretty much have the most diverse native phenotype of any people on earth. many north indians could easily pass as italians, others could pass as middle eastern people such as iranians. some other groups could easily pass as south american latinos/mestizos. in eastern india some of them look like south east asians but i thinkt hat is because of mixing with tibeto-burman people in the past.
some other indians in the south look like mullatos but with straight/wavy hair.

Tamils are pretty distinct, they look like very dark cacuasoids. majority of them have the same facial features as white people.

I've noticed that you constantly post that picture claiming it's you. You can't blame people for beginning to get suspicious, not only because of your reputation as a poster here. Take a picture of yourself on your web-cam or regular digital camera, holding up a paper saying -
"Hi ABF, this is Jgamibi!"

..and redeem yourself.
okay fair enough you caught me, that isn't me, this is me

And you are obviously a moron who thinks Sicilians are Black.

Seriously, aren't you Black?

Why are you going around labeling Indians as whatever you want them to be? For the last time, no, Italians, Indians, and no other groups want to be labeled as Black. Indians are just Indian and I already corrected the guy for calling us Italians, of course here in the American Northeast being viewed as Italian isn't really unique.

Show us where I claimed that sicilians were black,

For the last time, no, Italians, Indians, and no other groups want to be labeled as Black. You are delusional to lump indians with italians.

And it doesn't matter what you want to be labeled as, it is what others see you as. Italians are never seen as black while indians often are.

No Comment. You are just an idiot, you wish Indians were Black (then again I sorta do too) but in real life, Indians and Black are not seen as the same people.

What next?

Alfieb coming in here and telling us that Italians and Scandinavians are the same people.

In Fiji too, there is quite a lot of Indians there. You can also encounter people with typically Indian names and very Melanesian phenotype (due to mixing there).

True, and in Fiji, Samoa and Melanesia it is quite hard to tell the indians from the locals.

No, North Indians cannot pass for Italians. Is this a joke or what? A few can pass for West Asians, and invariably because of fairly recent West Asian genes. Even Bollywood stars rarely pass for anything other than light-pigmented Indians.

It is because of Tamils many Americans think Indians are black, like East African of some sort. Remember lot of East Africans too are Caucasoid.

You do have one or two individuals among Indians here and there that can for European of some sort, though it's a stretch.

Basically it's more random. It does not matter region. Some are light, some are dark, but mostly dark.

Its not not necessarily mixing. Some South Indians can look Melanasian, too. It's only the lucky few Indians that can look West Asian.

Nah north indians and bollywood indians are too dark to be italian. And you got different facial features. 90% of indians look like south indians. the rest 10% look pakistani. The darkest pakistani people can pass for north indian.

That is a high caste indian bollywood actor. He could never pass for italian or even dark paki.

Some lighter skinned ones can pass for Omanis and Yemenis.unfortunately most Indians get treated as second class citizens in the Middle East because of darker skin compared to local Arabs.

I know what South Indians look like, I lived for 5 years in a city where Tamil is the native language of one out of 8 inhabitants. The Melanesian look is very different.

Kuala Lumpur?

Yes, melanesians have different facial features than tamils, they are also more robust. But skin color is similar.

I think the differences between different Indians are exaggerated by a few posters. Most Indians look similar, it's that some are a few shades lighter than others, and often it's very random. The lighter skinned Indians do not look different to darker Indians other than being biy lighter. Take Salman Khan, for example http://www.gobollywood.com/profile/salman-khan.jpg This guy looks very typically Indian to me, but for some bizarre reason, he will be held up as European looking.

Most of India's populations have been genetically isolated for many thousands of years and they have bred with each other in that time ane have gotten distinct look.

However, a few here and there can look a little different.

Oh please... personally I've only been mistaken for an Italian once (and was like ), a Black girl (says all) in college who thought that all South Asian looks like Apu from the Simpson, and was surprised that I don't fit the cliché. If she was just a bit aware of the different South Asian phenotypes she wouldn't say that.
But otherwise, I've yet to see an Italian-looking South Asian... perhaps a negligible proportion of North Indians/Pakistanis, but the only people who looks West Asian on average are the (Indian) Kashmiris. The rest - even about the North Indians/Pakistanis - well, sounds a bit naïve, but 'look like South Asians'.
Take Bollywood: the fairest guy I can't put it him in some other countries
