Came up with an idea for this thread while surfing Acadian forums and Alice Cooper came on my random playlist.
There was a thread on one making fun of English-speaking people who might have some Acadian blood in them saying they're Acadian, and how they're not. Alice Cooper is half Acadian (his real name is Vincent Furnier) but is culturally an Anglo-American, and many people will feel the need to mention that. But Alice Cooper is rich and famous, if he was a regular guy, I'd bet he'd be regarded as they type the people on the forum are talking about. lol Seems a lot of ethnic groups do this, though. |
