I'm a fairly picky person, and I've always set aside physical requirements for a man as well as ones regarding character (I don't like men with a lot of baggage). I'm curious what requirements others have for a mate.

My bare minimum physical requirements have always been that he is of predominantly northern European descent with light skin/eyes and is at least 5'11 (male equivalent of a female who is 5'6).

My bare minimum personality/character requirements would be that he wants to ultimately get married, does not have any habits I don't like ie. smoking pot, doesn't have any STDs, and is slighly more moralistic but not too focused on religion.

Unfortunately even a man with my minimum requirements is very difficult to find, but they do exist.

I know what you mean regarding IQ. Language is very important to me, so I prefer that a man has a very high vocabulary and is very good with language, writing, and reading. People who are good with language and writing are usually more capable all around, even if their IQ score is not especially high. Some of these rednecks can't even read well, and I would never want to degenerate my offspring that way, your ability to read/write is very much biological but somewhat dependent on individual personality in my opinion. Some personality types have more of a knack for language than others, but it definitely has something to do with genetics too.

I also hope to find a mate who has a natural ability in math, because that is what my intelligence lacks. I have superior writing and verbal skills but my ability to do math is poor because I'm a slow and methodical thinker. I have to say that my spatial awareness is very poor though lol, which probably has something to do with being female. I get lost in parking lots all the time, and my sense of direction is almost retarded. This is suprising though since my father is a very successful mason/landscaper which relies almost entirely on spatial awareness.

The only issue people with high IQs usually have is personality disorders or some kind of mental illness. This is not always true of course (my sister must have a ridiculously high IQ and has a perfect personality), but I tend to observe that the smarter the person, the crazier.

I agree with you on language, I have an almost compulsive habit of correcting people who spell or say a word wrong. In Swedish, we call this "språkpolis" or "språkfascist", and prejudiced people think this is an inferiority complex trait or something, but they just don't get it: it's about preserving the language to posterity, by speaking it correctly to the best of your ability and not degenerating the language by using flawed grammar or fucked up spelling. It annoys the hell out of me when for example ethnic Swedes can't differentiate between proper subjective/objective pronouns, and constantly misuse "han" and "honom" in every context, or when they don't understand the differences between dator and data, it's unbelievable! It's one thing if immigrants have problems with this, but when it's your own mother tongue, there's no excuse.

In regards to logical intelligence, if she likes chess, it's a big plus in my book. Chess is an intellectual sport, and men are better chess players than women, so I'm not expecting her to be a Kasparov or anything, but she must enjoy playing chess. As I'm sure you know, chess is all about logical thinking, and so is math.

An enthusiastic interest in computers (both software and hardware), video games and anthropology, is of course always a big plus. But such hobbies are rare amongst women (all women think about is high heels, clothes and make-up; I know I'm stereotyping here, but there's a lot of truth to this).

I should add that I have no actual pigmentation preference, nor do I have any height preference either. What's important is that her facial traits are beautiful, like beautiful, big eyes etc., and that she's not 140 cm nor 210 cm. I do like light skinned women, blond, blue eyes etc., but I also like swarthier types if they have the proper and beautiful facial traits. Overall, I think there are more important genetic aspects than height, like that she lacks high genetic risks for diseases and such. I don't have a problem with a taller woman as long as she has other good qualities. Geena Davis at 183 cm is a tall and beautiful woman, for example, but then again, so is über-MILF Lovette, at 157 cm

I also have a requirement that she must be open minded. Anne Rice is a great intellectual role model for women, I think. And when she was 30-40 years old, she was definitely an Irish MILF
