I only know America though TV but i must say that race always comes up in movies or TV Shows. I learned a lot of racial slurs watching american movies, for example if it wasn't for them i would know very little about jews.
Going by the way this is portrayed on american TV, i think no other country comes close with being obssessive with race. |

America is one of the least racist countries nowadays, actually. How many nations have a president from a minority group and tons of extra benefits for ethnic minorities among other things. I guarantee you'll pretty much never see this happen in an American pro sports arena, it happens all the time in Europe http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...ns-525020.html
If America is so racist, why do people want to come here so bad? |

America isn't the most racist country on earth, but it's one of the most race conscious countries. This is mainly due to the fact that the United States has a great diversity of ethnic groups and phenotypes. The more homogeneous the society, the less racial consciousness and conflict in the society.

Sure they are. 6/8ths of Americans are white, and 1/8th are black. Only about 3% are mixed (not including Hispanics). The majority of urban Americans seems to be part of so called "minorities". |

What do you mean, him being black or him being mixed? Both aren't really minorities in America. |

Of course. Again, like with the national average, about 1/8th of New Jersians are black.
Here, you find blacks in places like Camden, Trenton, Jersey City, and Newark. The largest cities in the state, and the last places anyone would want to be. New Jersey is suburban, and there are very few blacks in the suburbs. Most can't afford it, so they're stuck in crime-ridden, impoverished, run-down ghettoes. Obama being 1/2 white doesn't make him part of the majority. It makes him part of an even smaller minority, as he is neither white nor black but rather white and black. Mulattoes are a fringe group that are often accepted by neither. |

If America is so racist, why do people want to come here so bad? |
