What is the best Eastern European country to live (specially for a person in his early 20s)?
Positive Aspects can be: 1) Security 2) Good Economy, low taxes, (be easy to establish a business is a must) 3) Low Level of the Police State 4) Low level of Corruption 5) Culture level 6) Youthful people, 7) Low population of Gypsies Im thinking in Romania because the language is easy and the country looks funny another options i am thinking are Poland, Serbia or Russia. Thanks |

Romania's gypsy pop. is between 2,5%(official)-10%(unofficial,almost same statistic like the rest of the countries around,Hungary and Bulgaria actually have a larger % of gypsies, but it really pisses me off to see some official foreign fuck come and tell the unofficial estimate, like he/she counted the all),most gypsies live segregated from the rest of the communities however but you can see the vermin begging on the streets(near churches or food places).
Culture/touristic wise it offers more advantages to some western latin because of the language, for italians:the italian minority(small but it exists) and the wide variety of landscape. Pussy wise the women are more than ok. I'd mention Poland or Hungary as having better economies but 1) there are not that much better and you're only interested in that if you make a modest living 2)the languages are really hard to learn and rather unpleasant to the ear 3) not much diversity as compared to Romania. |

I knew that someone will point this. Poland is in central Europe, not in Eastern, however I know that most people will consider it Eastern. Point of view depends on viewing point. Former Communist states are considered as Easter Europeans for political reasons, however Poland is geographically in Central Europe. |

I took the time to check all your criteria, but I mostly used wikipedia as source,so based on wikipedia sources I'll list "best" countries:
Countries with lowest homicidal crime rate, unfortunately I couldn't find crime rate in general, for example Romania has a very low theft rate(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_Bucharest) but in this homicide rate list it's rated higher than it's neighbor countries that are worse when it comes to theft: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._homicide_rate Lowest in East Europe are: Poland,Czech Rep.,Hungary. List of Economic Freedom: http://www.heritage.org/index/Ranking.aspx Best are: Estonia,Georgia,Lithuania Police state issues can be more complicated but I choose this list:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_indices_of_freedom Most East Euro countries are the classified as "flawed democracy",the only "full democracy" is Slovenia and Czech Rep.. Corruption: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corrupt...ceptions_Index Least corrupt are :Estonia,Slovenia,Hungary. Human Development Index: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Development_Index The only ones to have the "Very High Human Development" are Slovenia and Czech Rep. . List of countries by median age and fertility rate: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._by_median_age http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...fertility_rate Youngest Median age: Albania,Armenia,Moldova, followed by Macedonia,Slovakia,Romania,Poland. Oldest Median Age:Slovenia,Bulgaria,Croatia,Serbia. Most fertile countries: Albania,Montenegro,Serbia, followed by Estonia,Macedonia,Georgia,Moldova. Lowest Population of Gypsies, and other minorities, is definitely in Poland. Highest number of Gypsies are in Romania,Balkans,Hungary. Largest % are in Bulgaria,Macedonia,Romania. What you have to bear in mind is that gypsies are persecuted almost everywhere in Eastern Europe, the most persecuted are those in Czech Rep. and the least persecuted are those in Romania(probably because of segregation),there are also countries with feverish ethnic nationalism and disrespect of minorities for assimilation purposes, such as Hungary and Slovakia,so the chances of 'gypsies in hiding'/that declare themselves as something else are high in such countries. "Best" is,according to wiki sources and the requirements: Slovenia with two 1st places and one 2nd place, then Estonia and then the Czech Rep. ,surprisingly all of these were part of the Holy Roman Empire(including Estonia). After these countries I guess "best" would be a pick between Slovakia,Poland,Hungary/Romania; still kinda early to judge considering none of these countries fully recovered after communism(East Germany still receives economic help from West Germany even after 20 years),ex. poles and romanians had better conditions that spanish and italians before WW2. |

The ones where people are most Westernized...that would be Czech and Slovakia...
I've been to Czech and Russia, only Slavic nations I've been too, I much preferred the Czech Republic. :-) You can live there and work in Germany, maybe get a higher salary and come back and spend it on beer and bitches. :-) |
