Does it happens to you also?

Not that I'm lonely or anything, I have my share of friends who likes me whatever I say, but whenever I go to university or study circles, I seem to end up in a group with 3/4 leftists/liberals and I have a habit to bring up politics and throw up my conservative views from day one. I get angry and can tell my opponent that he talks bullshit and that he's a commie, while he's just a boring modern pc liberal.

Here are views that use to clash me with most people my age at university:

-I'm christian, and think christian values is the foundation of western society

-I critize islam, and say christianity is a more democratic religion

-I prefer our current swedish right-party government instead of the social democrats.

-I don't want homosexuals to get married or adopt children

-I don't think USA is evil devils who steal other countries oil.

-I think it was splendid that our pm record-lowered the taxes for people who work and not lie on their back.

Sometimes I feel I would be better placed in some hillbillie part of Texas, but I don't like them either, oh no.

I don't care if people I don't know think I'm a fascist pig or anything, I always stand up for my views, even if I'm alone in a room of 20 who have opposite views.

I felt like a lone rider

Many here on anthroboards are racists (which I am not), anti-islam or have other controversial opinions, are you open with them?
Maybe is some kind of masturbation with your ego, that you honestly don't consider this as a problem and actually you take your pride for being such a opportunist and arguments with other people actually are exciting for you. Such anti conformism can build up our egos but in the end nobody will want to argue with you on political matters, at any matters at all because you'll start to make them tired and bored.

It's not hard to stand up for your views when you discuss political matters with couple students wearing glasses. Besides, I don't know if your are complaining or just boasting.

Boasting, no. But ofcourse I feel a bit pride in being one against the rest.

My main question is if others feel the same, or if you keep your views quiet in new environments if you know they are gonna piss off the others. Some people feel the need to be popular eveywhere they are, and therefore don't speak about things others don't like, at least not from the start like I do.

Many here would be called bigots, like people have called me.

I have fedex or who it was in mind. From the thread about character flaws.

It depands, in most cases in new enviroment I don't have a plans to become shot caller after first conversation. Talking about some matters too soon with people can be considered as a faux pas, especially when nobody is asking you about your views and especially when it comes to political views.

Some cases need to be disputed from the beginning and immidietely, about others I just don't care or I wait for a good moment to make better position in discussion. However when I'm asked I'll always tell the truth.

Your post speaks for me as well, but I'm a Latin who lives in America so that should be little surprise.

I grew up in NYC, where registered Democrats outnumber Republicans 8-1.

The mayor is a non-observant Jew who supports building a Mosque two blocks from the World Trade Center.

It seems as though it's easier to be a godless faggot in New York than it is a right-winger.

Why are you so mad today alfetta? Maybe you need Xanax instead of jesus. One of them actually works. Did someone mistake you for puerto rican again

i have to agree here, in Norway, a recent survey found that over 70% viewed religion as something suspicious..

so i would guess its similar in Sweden....but i dont mind...its perfect for me...

religion should be liable to criticism as all other social organisations..

That isn't something restricted to us native nords.

There's a lot of pro-gay and pro-feminist members of muslim background in Swedish Left parties.

If only more leftists in Sweden would join the Pirate Party, your country wouldn't be so fucked up.

Pirate party can't be places on a right-left scale.

I've met people with left views who support them.

The left in Sweden is more against internet supervising.

EU is mostly to blame for such laws, and left here opposes EU. So does Swedish Democrats.

Yeah i know its so easy to criticize religion because theres so many flaws, contradictions, mistranslated holy texts, non-sensical things (like a talking burning bush in the bible) and whatever. When Muslims were criticized in Europe they issued a fatwa on thatdanish cartoonist. When christians are criticized in America they usually complain about being persecuted even though like i said most of America is christian so they can't be persecuted

That's actually my point.

If SAP voters defected to the Pirates, it would be good for everyone.

I agree about everything except bold part, though it's not just oil that they want to steal from other.

Let me just add that I understand you, but most of your countrymen or better to say most of Westerners just don't think about politics(or better to say believe whatever they hear on TV or learn in schools). That's why Serbs are often viewed as racists or nazi's, where as most of us are actually nationalists(me included)

Both of these two topics are a bit complex issues
