Half of Europeans are overweight, a report shows. And 15,5 % are obese.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-11935525 Highest obesity rates are in Britian (24,5 %), followed by Ireland and Malta. The least obese are Romanians (7,9 %), Swiss, Italians, Norwegians and Swedes In USA this is much because junk food is cheaper (hence all obese low class americans). Probably same in Britian and Ireland. Meanwhile, nutritionists are warning that many Africans are putting their health at risk because they are not eating enough fruit and vegetables. |

The title "Half of Europeans are overweight" is misleading. The british are pushing these statistics up when some countries just have 15% of obesity. If fact 15% is the european average. |

Overweight is when you weigh somewhat more than the recommended range, obese is more severe and akin to a medical condition. Their irish and british cousins arent doing that bad either ![]() Icelanders could thank to their briton/irish geners to show up that high in the list. |
