Default The end is nigh - Poland gets first out gay elected official ;)
Krystian Legierski has become Poland’s first openly gay elected official.

The nightclub owner, entrepreneur and LGBT rights activist won a seat on Warsaw city council last month.

The Green party member ran on a Social Democrat ticket.

Mr Legierski, who is black, has suffered racism and homophobic but told Gazeta Wyborcza that although his election was a breakthrough for national politics, the residents of Warsaw are more open-minded.

He said: “I can’t compare myself to Harvey Milk, but I’m glad that I am the first openly gay candidate to be elected for a public office in Poland.”

Warsaw hosted Europride earlier in July but Poland has had an uneasy relationship with gay rights over the years.

The country is deeply Catholic and conservative and human rights groups say it has a poor record on gay equality.

Late president Lech Kaczynski, who died in a plane crash in April, had been accused of homophobia on a number of occasions.

Homosexuality is legal in Poland but couples cannot adopt children and there is no legal recognition of their relationships.

He could go to Finland. There, 30 000 people got so mad that they left the State Lutheran Church because a person from church said in tv that homosexuality is wrong from christian viewpoint."

He is not "black", then. Like Obama, he got the wrong label (both culturally and phenotype). But there is one label that can't be used referring to "Mary": christian.

What was it again I said about you giving off masculine vibes? What woman, or human for that matter advocates stoning?

Mary, you are a barbaric masculine thug.

Back on topic. We have gay elected officials here in California, and I don't think that anyone really cares. My question is, is this man seen as Black in Poland? I've been to Poland for work (Warsaw) and didn't see one person that looked like this, are there many mixed blacks or Africans there?

No. But there are exceptions: http://forumbiodiversity.com/showthread.php?t=11601

He is homosexual. And as we know, God destroyed the city of Sodom by raining fire upon it from the sky. Following this example I will concede that burning him would be the appropriate course of action, alternatively raining fire and sulfur on his house.

How can I advocate this? Because it is the right and good thing to do. Doing the right thing is not hard or difficult. All it requires is faith.

About Africans in Poland: Well, I don't know, what do you think yourself? It's a Slavic country. Are there many Blacks or mixed Africans in Russia perhaps?

Take a hint:

Pushkin wasn't really mixed. He had something like a great-grandfather who was Black. It's not exactly the same as being half-Negro. Which is what people usually mean with "mixed". In either case he's an exception. The Slavic norm is that Negroes are not kept in the country.

He's getting more monotonous than Charlie Bass who did at least post a few supporting references. They both keep referring to something called god to support their speciosities. I still can't tell whether they're making it up as I've never had the misfortune to meet such religios in my atheic land.

Being gay, black, muslim, woman and disabled on the same time means you can use anti-discrimination laws and sue every employer

A pink African holding elective office... in Poland of all places?

He may very well be able to relate to Harvey Milk sooner or later. Just takes one loon with a gun.

I don't see such risk. In Poland leftist (postcommunist) loons with guns rather shoot right-wingers than the other way round:

But the majority of Poles are centre-right and not gay-friendly, no?

Civic Platform, League of Polish Families, Polish People's Party, Law & Justice, Poland is Most Important, etc.

Yes, and I hope it will stay this way, when people realize what is happening to the countries which have earlier taken the path of different Zapateristas.
