The US is the closest there is to a diverse, wealthy country, but white Euros still make up 65-70% of the total population, and most of these people have been assimilated to WASP culture. The US is also politically dominated by WASPs, so while it is diverse, it is no where near as diverse and mixed as the likes of Brazil and Mexico.
However, there is no rich country that very diverse and no one ethnic group makes a clear majority. For a country to be wealthy and prosperous, there has to be a strong, dominant majority ethnicity and culture. Where this is not present, everything becomes fragmented and decentalised and people are looking out for their own ethnic groups interests, not the interests of the country at large. Very diverse countries in which there are loads of different ethnic groups and no clear majority in my opinion are almost rudderless. |

Ethnic/racial/religious? |
