Sarkozy wants the Roma gypsies out of France. Look at this nonsense: "For those who left this morning, they can certainly take a plane as early as tonight and come back to France. There's nothing to prevent this," Le Cleve told Associated Press Television News in an interview. "Obviously, these people come back, they are brought to the Romanian border, then come back to France, can leave again and so on. There are some Roma people who have been sent back seven or eight times, each time receiving the famous euro300." What's the point? You need to finger print these mo' fo's and then send them back with nothing more than a plane ticket if they keep coming. They'll stop once they realize there is nothing to gain. It's all about incentives, or in this case lack of incentives. |

Hitler had the right idea. Also I think gypsies have contributed about the same amount to European civilization as Sicilians have. ![]() |

Next time read the entire post when you quote it. I'll take your word but I'm curious what part of Hitler's idea you agree with? |

This is the problem with the EU's rapid expansion. We've included too many countries that have significant numbers of really poor people.
It's quite possible that begging in France + occasionally being sent back and being paid 300 euro is actually more profitable than getting a job in Romania. The wealth gap is just too big for it all to function. And sure, Romania etc joining the EU probably means that the wealth gap will be closed more quickly, but in the mean time we get problems like this. Same problem with criminals. Our prisoners have better living conditions than some Eastern European poor. With the logical result that some of them will try their hand at criminality here. Even if they get caught and convicted, they'll end up with a better lifestyle than they had back in Eastern Europe. Can't blame them. Anyway, as for the deportations themselves.. I really don't know enough about French law or the specific living conditions of these gypsies to say whether or not it's justified. An important point is probably that these gypsies don't seem to own/rent any houses; they just set up camp on some publicly held land or something? |

This isn't really about poor people. Romanies could get jobs and join society if they wanted to. Shit, they've been in Europe for 1,000 years and they still stubbornly cling to their foreign culture and their language that encourages being worthless deadbeats, vagabonds, and criminals.
There are impoverished Polish and Romanian people who are hard workers who try to emigrate westward. That's perfectly fine and goes along with why the EU has freedom of movement to begin with... but the rules weren't intended for the Balkans, as the Balkans weren't even in the EU at the time the organization was being developed. This is a problem that has to be handled uniquely from other problems. I can tell you that Sicilians in particular are fed up with the Gypsies. |

Kurds and other "problem" minorities all share a common aspect--They want their own state! Try to give Gypsies a homeland and they will not want it....they would then have nobody to parasitize!
Seriously, they have been even offered proper homes in the hundreds of unfinished skeleton buildings all throughout the smaller cities across Romania..away from the major population centers. Guess what--they refused, because they then would be forced to work the land or some other unsuitable lifestyle which is, in their minds, beneath them. There really is no palatable solution to the Gypsy problem so Europe will just have to get used to the idea that Gypsies are a shared European problem that will not go away without seriously medieval methods of resolution. At least they don't blow themselves up in marketplaces to enter paradise. |
