Yesterday i watched a horrific TV Documentary program about Small Afghan children who are sold as slaves [Bacha bazi] to some war lords and northern Alliance commanders. their task is to first and foremost to wear Woman's cloth and make up and then dance for a bunch of Elderly men for entertainment in Wedding and other festivities plus those young children are also forced to have sexual intercourse with their "guardian".
If the crime was not enough, This immoral practice of sodomy is totally accepted norm in the Afghan general population, instead of eliciting total contempt by the public at large, having small boys in your stall is considered as a status and a symbol of been influential ![]() Btw...Sex with young boys are highlighted and praised in ancient Persian culture as well. |

Btw...Sex with young boys are highlighted and praised in ancient Persian culture as well. Persian poets and writers from the 10-16th centuries openly talk about having sex with their wine-boys (saghis) and squires ![]() There are even paintings of the the king (Shah Abbas I) getting busy with his pre-pubescent wine-boy. PS. The people who commit these acts predominantly arent homosexual and pre-pubescent boys arent considered men so they dont see it as homosexuality. |

Oh please. Blaming Alexander really? When the invasion took place around 334 BC? Jesus is claimed to have lived over two millennia ago and yet his influence is highly palpable today woman, show some intellectual vigor ---------- Post added 2010-08-24 at 09:28 ---------- It's ütter common in Persia even between the Islamists! ![]() you are ütter ignorant; in the middle east, individuals of the same gender traditionally greet each other with kisses on the cheek |

Yea I know. i often hear persians saying they are ashamed that afghans (pashtuns) are an iranian people. They are more backwards than pretty much everyone in the world. part of my mom's side of the family is still nomadic lur; they still live in tents, they still have many more horses than cars, they still fire guns into air for no apparent reason and they still have their occasional tribal feuds Their lifestyle is pretty much the same as that of the afghans They are extremely "backwards" but i wouldn't have it any other way Every summer, I actively seek out that kind of backwards when i visit my mom's tribe and i genuinely enjoy it , for a few days at least |

cultural influences have the potential to be very enduring ![]() ---------- Post added 2010-08-25 at 00:53 ---------- Backwards and nomadic are different things. Afghans are backwards in the sense of honor killings, supporting of terrorism etc The Taleban were originally markedly different to Al Qaida - who are an outright terrorist organisation but have infiltrated the Taleban to much extent. As for 'honour killings', these are also common throughout the 'developing' world, albeit in different forms. ---------- Post added 2010-08-25 at 00:54 ---------- That is not backwardness |
