Sony a65 body + 16-80mm lens
- around 1200£
Nikon D3200 + 18-105mm lens
- You might be able to through some extra in it

I wouldn't consider Canon. Unless you want to be a lemming.
Canon only makes sense in 1500£ and up category.

Canon are better if you want to take video on it as well.
