as we say.... don't go to bed with a girl whose name you don't know
I guess it happens once in a while.
sorry. couldn't miss it.
Not very helpful Betty and speculates somewhat; I'll regard it as an aberration from Forum standards.

Do others have any more constructive comments that may assist with the objective?

Agreed but I also need to respect her privacy and any relationship she may be in now, so probably not wise to post. Maybe you'd agree?
So, this ex of yours must be a really big name then. Honestly, what's so private about posting her nickname? The Thai press always use nicknames when writing up big politicians - no-one cares.

To tell you the truth, i think you are asking too much. You'd better come to Thailand and search through national press archives.

Btw: What's this about tracing an old girlfriend back 40 years? Have you suddenly begun to miss her? Does she owe you money?

btw, if you could ask someone to make a google search in Thai, there may be a list of names somewhere in Thai.
Hi Betti: I Googled in Thai language already, couldn't find anything. I only saw similar entry as David/Ubon posted.

Google!!! Slightly less than 1 second on Gooogle gives you the following information...

David
The thing is, if all potential newbies to thailandqa forums 'Googled' instead of signing up and commenting here, thailandqa would have no new members!

May I, before my post drops of the bottom of the page, have one last go at seeing if anyone out there has a few minutes to spare to try and find the name(s) I'm looking for. I'm sure that you would appreciate that it will be so much easier for a Thai speaker, who is in the country, than for I.

Many thanks, in advance, to the kind soul who makes this extra effort to help another.

Jenjira Kerdprasop was "Miss Thailand World" in 2003
That clears it up

Born in Thailand, but raised in Sweden, she has also been a member of the Swedish National and Olympic Archer team using her Swedish name Mix Haxholm.

Maybe it would also help if you tell us her Nickname.

Hi, Does anyone know where I can get full names of the winners and runners up of Miss Thailand, going back to the 1970's?

But would you recognize the full name (without accompanying photos), considering that you only remember the nickname?
Sorry for the delay, I'm in GMT.

In short, Negative,
i/ I know she was a runner up, not a winner,
ii/ would certainly recognise her from a photo, I having been shown one of her in the parade,
iii/ think I can pin down the era to 1968-1972 (more probably 1971-1972 based on her estimated age), there having been no contests for some years from 1973 onwards.

'Full names and associated photos' would therefore be ideal and would conclude this stage of the enquiry, 'full names only' being a second best but one from which I could carry out alternative lines of enquiry.
Hope you can still help.

Thx one and all. I'd actually found winners but am looking for runners up also. Any clues on where to find that info AND photos.
To be honest, I'm trying to trace an old girlfriend but only have a nickname - would I be forgiven for not recalling a full Thai name?
With a full list to tally with a photo, I'm almost there.
