start at 20,50,100,500,1000 and ten is coin. carry alot 10, 20,50 for tips don't expect the change back from the waitors.

I always recieve all my change back from anyone I happen to be doing business with,,never any satang, but all the baht,,sometimes just 2 or 3, .
I always tip folks except the cashiers at the large markets with the computer registers, our water boy, the person who pumps my gas the waiter in a resturant.
And I never have any trouble getting a 1000 baht broken when I buy something, altho I do try to have smaller bills or you might have to wait a few minutes.
But maybe I am just lucky to not live in a city.
