There is an enourmous gap of mistrust and aversion between Farang men and Thai men. English media in Thailand has the power to bridge this gap. Unfortunately, statements like "Thai men are womanisers, drink too much and are lazy" just create more enmity.

It'd be refreshing to see the English-language media being a bit more responsible and stop making mia-farang excuses in order to make the larger farang readership feel superior about themselves. Instead, priorities should be placed on providing a broad, more balanced picture on the issue, for the sake of increased social harmony and understanding.
