i have to work on the family orchards every year during picking season and during the smudgepots time. thats terrible work. blazing heat, hard physical labour, during smudgepots, you have to stay up all night to moniter the temperature. the worst is painting the oil burner. heat radiating off of it must be about 135 in that room... |

Fast food joints are the most fun, but I worked at Burger King until I could afford my first car. Then with the car I was able to expand my choices and got a job at a "key making shop" at Sears. Then aventually I started working at a cigar, and pipe store. I saved most every penny I got for school, and when I first bought bogu it was alot harder to find here in the midwest, and lot more expensive. I guess what I'm saying is, fast food worked for me, I'm a better person for working my butt off, and I had wait to buy things. Waiting didn't kill me, just made me appriciate it more. Good luck, and don't write fast food off.

but if you need the money, you have to do what you have to do. people complain too much about working these days. think to yourself when you think you have a bad job, at least im not picking apples and cherrys with Dominic. you can spend money a thousand times faster than you can make it. thats why i have a bank account. because im too lazy to withdrawl money. but really, hope you figure out how to make money, stay in school, dont do drugs, wait untill you're married to... well, you get the point. |

Thats the best bit at being young (14-17ish), you may not be able to drive and get a proper job, but you still get your meals bought for you, and theres no bills to pay. It just takes slightly longer to save for the things you need. Its easy until you get your own place! I is not looking forward to it...
Ah, the wonders of birthdays... |
