You know you love basketball when...

1. Everytime you throw something away, it's a jumper in your mind. You may even pump fake and go in for a stylish layup. You like dunking rebounds from other people's misses.

2. Sometimes when someone walks towards you head on, you like to throw a little head fake to the left or right before passing.

3. You slap door arches, touch ceilings, and like swatting at bugs. You know how to steal something out of someone else's hand before they even realize it.

4. You may throw the ball around with your kid, but you know for sure he'll know how to shoot a J.

5. If you owned a video game where you could make your own teams, you made teams up of everyone you knew, and even added kid's you didn't even like that much, if you needed to fill a spot.

6. You had heros, and you are someone elses hero, and will never know it.

7. You've set a pick on a dog before, or someone else.

8. If you haven't touched a ball in awhile, touching one brings you peace, and you either try to palm it right away, spin it on a finger, or dribble it to decide if you like it.

9. When you see numbers like 23 or 33, you think of jerseys in the back of your mind. Or a different number you liked.

10. You've thought about coaching at one time.

11. If someone loses their footing and crashes into you, you call charging.

12. It's painful to know Jordan is old.

What was that NBA draft?
What the heck are the lakers thinking?!?!?! I hope the old zen master has some tricks left in his bag.

Why would new york trade kurt thomas and Dijon thompson for little nate and Q? dont they have enough sg/sf there? I know they got frye..but Q? geez even the clippers let him go.

speaking of the clips...geez....i mean jaric, rebraca, and now korolev? actually rebraca has a nice post game, and jaric is good but is made of glass. will this guy be playing SG or SF?? who am i kidding, no one cares about the clips

toronto is on crack also, charlie at the 9?? atleast get ike or may.

I do recognize myself in these statements especially my old self.
I surely love the game, the thing is i've been disapointed when the NBA's "brainiacs" legalized the zone D, i curse them all, it took the FIBA so long to get rid of that sickness, leave the godamn zone in college and younger people. I don't folow the NBA as much as i did back in the 90s.
And i'm with you about Jordan and yeah i waned to be like Mike.

Ah, but if he did Kendo, we wouldn't think of him as old at 40-something. He'd be a relatively young, and very scary, 6 dan sensei.

Meanwhile, up in the cold-ass place, I open the paper and find out we're now the "Trail Babies".

Nice.

Oh yeah, we have several people in the PNKF who fit the "young, scary 6 Dan" description (names like Stroud, Marsten, and Imanishi quickly come to mind).

I'm picturing a 6 Dan who is 6 feet 6 inches and 230 pounds of hard muscle, and could leap 15 feet before I could blink. Do you think his tongue would come lolling out of his men gane?
