If you liked that movie, look for "the Hidden Blade".It is by the same director/writer and is a differnt twist on the same kind of story.

Default twilight samurai
This is not martial arts related per se but did anyone else see this movie?

it is by far one of the best movies i've seen in a while (skeleton key? bleh!) and I really enjoyed it. Very touching, and it had some decent action as well.

If you watch the commentary afterwards, it explains a bit about the themes of the movie, and I think its important to watch them to enjoy the movie more.

I recommend this movie to all of you!
I give it two twobit thumbs up!

I happen to have just rented that movie and saw it 2 days ago. Best part was when Seibei Iguchi kicked that Samurai's A*s,when challenged, with a wooden shoto.

If I'm not mistaken. That same actor was in the Last Samurai movie as well.

Good recommendation!

You are not mistaken, he was in the Last Samurai.

I own a copy of this DVD, I've loaned it to my dojo partners, many of whom are Japanese. Every one of them thoroughly enjoyed the movie, as did I.

thumbs up for this movie. the fight scenes though short, are highly realistic for the most part.

if you like kurosawa's jidai/chanbara flics you shouldn't miss this one.
