--------------------------------------------------------------------

The blurp I pasted above basically says for the first time in 34 years, a Korean University Men's Team beat the Japanese University Team for both Kanto and Kansai....in teams of 15, the Korean Men's Team won all four team matches.

The Korean Team consist of the best of 18 Korean Univerisites.

The Kanto and Kansai teams consists of the "best" of ~120 Japanese University Kenshi.

Would like to see photos/videos if anyone's got any.

I went to see this match a couple of years ago. The Koreans didn't win that time but they were awesome. While it might be said that the Japanese team are not necessarily the very best of all those students in Kanto, they're not far off it. I thought it represented a realistic comparison of the two countries' abilities.

History books just like to make it seem like the country's more superior?
Try being a transfer student learning the same thing (say, WWII), except in the other country's schools..
My teacher doesn't like the book either. hah

Interestingly, the korean taisho only started doing kendo at the age of 13. They must have put him through some tough practice to get hi ready in 7 years!
