anyone have following books? if so, how helpful is it to someone who can not read japanese?

Well, I have all four of the books you're interested in.
A lot of pictures. Informative and interesting.
If you went to high school or college in Korea, your familiarity with the kanji or hanja will help you understand most of the titles and pictures/diagrams.

The book I'd recommend is this one:

Lots of pictures - almost self-explanatory, if you can read the hanja.
