Im going to start Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and I was wandering if anyone else does it and if its like the UFC style of fighting.

All I know is it's from Brasil, and it's fighting.
But there's no sword training in it, if that's what you mean.

Yes, it's a lot like the UFC. (Only, obviously, you're not being punched in the face.) Go, enjoy it, do everything they tell you. You'll get tooled all the time - then, gradually, you'll start doing the pwning.

BJJ is mostly grappling, with a heavy emphasis on the ground game. It shares a lot of common ground with judo, except that judo emphasizes throwing. BJJ allows more submission variations, ie you can lock up more joints (judo is just the elbow).

Yeah Neil is right, and dont get fooled by the ufc, some of their fighters know a little about jiujitsu, but if you start your classes in some months youll see that the UFC guys suck, specially the guys from the reality show, they are the worst fighters ever, i think any real teacher can takem out
