Default Wrongness beyond compare
The seat of a Judge should be an example to society, not a display of drunken abuse of power out of sheer meaness.

Judge sues dry cleaner for $67,000,000 for LOST PAIR OF PANTS

Shameful.

Response from American Tort Reform Association (I'd rather see a response from US DOJ Public Integrity Section).

67 million dollars for lost pair of pants...wow. There should be a law that allowes people to counter sue that for being irrational and ridiculous. But of course laws are often not logical or rational. And it figures that the owners of DC are Koreans.
I should find the pants and stuff it down his throat....and probably get sued justfully so I shouldn't do that. and what happens if they relocate the pants? Will they still get sued for emotional damage and what not?
Can't believe it

I think that Ignatz's lawer point of view would be useful to help us (especially non-american people) to understand how is this situation possible.

Ignatz spent 20 years representing poor people and more often than not did it for free, thus he is not in the least bit interested in discussing this kind of stuff.

It's good to see that even in the USA the law courts are not full to the brim with frivolous suits,or half suits in this case. "mental suffering, inconvenience and discomfort." Bless his heart. I hope he awards as much to the victims family of the next murderer, ect he has before his bench.

Absolute Judicial Immunity corrupts absolutely.
It also helps ensure an independant judiciary, double edged sword...

And has absolutely not one thing to do with this.

Do you guys watch a couple episodes of Greys Anatomy then start doing surgery?

If some schmuck were to read a book on kendo or iaido and post a video you knuckleheads would be on him like a cheap suit.

But you are all law experts (even though some of you can't even spell lawyer).

Nope. I'd never claim to be a "law expert" but I know a shark when I see one. Seriously though, good lawyers get a bad rap from guys like this.

He's suing for 10 years of car hire to go to another dry-cleaner? If he is a judge, can't he afford a car? Do you guys not pay judges at least minimum wage?
