Have you ever seen a young girl crying and your wife looking at you like you are an animal without heart? Before you experienced that, don't assume everything is possible. Tell you this a daughter crying can break the strongest men in the world and melt all the katana combined. Unfortunately, I only use bamboo shinai.
Poor lad...surrounded by crying girls and whiny cats - no wonder you need Kendo.

LNGUYEN, what happen to the kittens? Have you given them away or still have them wondering around?

Ha ha, after many nights and days negotiating, we striked a deal. We keep a mother and one kitten and we did find good homes (my neighbors) for other two kittens. However, I have new problem, the kitten doesn't want to sleep alone, it must sleep on my bed. If we didn't let it in the room, it keeps Meow Meow all night long.

Lan-san,

I loved your tail() in your first post. You are a funny writer! You are also very kind to put up with all the kittens.

I'm glad you were able to strike a deal with your wife and daughter.

As to the cats wanting to sleep with you, let them. They are people animals and will forever love you if you love them back. My two Siamese slept on my bed for all 16 years I had them. They have since died a couple years ago, but the reward was priceless.

They are showing their love for you for rescueing them. They will love you forever now.

Oh. be sure to get a cat scratcher at your local pet store, and if you see them claw a couch, curtain, etc. what you do is, shake it firmly by the scruff(Not violent!) like a mama cat would do and say "No!" when you catch the cat scratching on the object they are not supposed to be scratching. Then, take it over to the scracher, teach it how to scratch it's claws on it and say "Good kitty!" That worked for me. Mine never scratched a thing other than a cat scratcher as a result.

ONLY scold if you catch the cat in action, or it won't understand.

And, get plenty of cat toys to lie about the house.

Kittens are like little children and it could take a year to train them to not scratch, if they do. If worse comes to worse, and they never learn, you could get their claws removed. My two Siamese who were indoor cats, never had to get their claws removed, so there is hope!

Anyway, I think you are wonderful for putting up with all the kitties and then keeping the mama and one baby.

Enjoy your new kitties! You'll get used to them. If you spoil them and love them, they will reward you well with love.

Meow!

Kaoru

Here is the story,

My brother's roomate had a summer job with moving company. One time during the moving, a cat's owner told him to hold the cat while he was busy. Next thing he knew, the owner took off and abandoned the cat. He tried to find someone to adopt her. Since my wife and my daughter want to have a cat (don't ask me why, it is a girl's thing), I asked about the cat and was informed that it was 5 month old (little kitten yeah?). You know what, we adopted the cat. Two weeks later, the cat's belly was little too big, I thought it got fat; but no it got a little pregnan. A few weeks later, three kitten were born. Since then, my life was ruined. Four cats in the house, three Kitten scratched everything they could think of. They like to sleep better on my bed then on their bed. My wife blocked the living room to protect her leather sofars and I couldn't get to my Piano withouth climbing through Himalaya. Before, I had to clean the litter box once a day, now twice a day with full bag of, you know what. I had to vacumm my house everyday now. Every step I walk, I had to look at my feet so I wouldn't crush them. And I am sick of MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW all day long. My wife takes care of their foods before giving me a dinner. Instead of saving money for Kendo, I had to spent it for the Vet. Is my life suck or what?
nah man ur life doesnt suck! u should thank god day and night!

about 6 years ago i found a very clean very white cat around our house, and when i aproached it it was friendly so i thought it belonged to someone, so i searched and didnt find anyone close to us looking for a missing cat, so we took her in, and ever since the cat population in out house grew from 1 cat to a maximum of 17 to 14 last year, but they were outdoor cats so no problem , well all the love and fun lasted until a few months ago when my mom decided to get rid of them all and started giving away the kittens and then gave the big ones to diffirent pet stores... even the daughter of my first, damn that was sad...

I'm a dog person honestly, but we've got four screwed up, rescued cats. One is seriously retarded and shits in my slippers, one is alergic to everything, one is part bobcat and crazy, and the last one is just old and fat... they don't catch mice like my terrier, they won't be trained, they don't come when their called, but I wouldn't get ride of them ever. You get used to it after a while I guess.

But I still like dogs better.
Good luck.

My cats greet me at the door, wake me in the morning if I keep hitting the snooze button (I think they worry I am dead or something), come when called, and they do laps of the apartment at night before bed to make sure it is safe before they cuddle up in bed with me. I love my little people!

My sister is moving back today with her 2 cats. We at home had ben hearing stories about the cats messing up her place and peeing everywhere including handbags and such. Last night the whole family just spent the night clearing up the house. It's a nice excuse to trash out boxes of junks from my little 3.5 m^2 room. People were talking about cats treating bogu bags like their toilet - so in the end the bogu bag and shinai are in my room too and I have to lock the room from the outside this morning. Lets hope nothings gonna happen when I come back from kendo tonight...

Are the cats neutered? Spraying and peeing in places other than the litter box are behaviors that stop when the cats are fixed. Something to do with puberty/sexual maturity makes the cats do funning things, but they stop when they are fixed. And it helps to control the pet population like immortal Bob Barker always recommends we do. Also, if the litter box is not clean, then the cats will refuse to use it. Best to get a clumping cat litter and spend 5 minutes each day cleaning out the little bits than to wait for too long and have a lot of nasties to clean or worse have the cat decide it isn't clean enough and go elsewhere.

the whole thing about cats peeing everywhere is actually marking their territory (at least male outdoor cats are like that ) other then that it could be that the littlerbox is dirty ike nodachi said

I love cats so much.... I have three, called Muffin, Teacake and Whiskers * * But you can probably tell that from my sig .... I'm absaloutly obsessed! If I was you I would have kept the kittens if there was enough space for them but that's not logistically possible in most places today! I'd just make sure they went to good homes.....

Lesson learned you can never win a war against your wife and your daughter.
You have to actually learn that lesson? It should've been obvious! Anyhow, please think of the kittens!

Gosh, only one year old? I can't imagine.

I like both cats and dogs, but I just can't have any of them at the moment.
